I attend a regular college campus for my classes but my brother takes online college courses because that is what works for him. He works third shift at his job and there would be no way he could go to classes at a regular college with a schedule like that. It makes it easy for him to do his school work in the afternoon or evening and sometimes on the weekends. He can fit it into where ever he needs to. It works great for him. Black Friday Ads

My mom went out to where she works and found a bunch of Black Friday ads for us to check out. My brother and I are planning on getting up in the wee early hours of the morning to head out and fight the crowds to get some really great deals. Chocolate Pie

Today is Thanksgiving and my mom made a delicious feast for us. I am still way too full to even think about eating again but I know later I will be eating my favorite pie and that is Chocolate pie. Apartments

We have been contemplating moving out of our apartment when our lease is up and we have told our roommate that my brother and I will be moving into a 2 bedroom home and that he would have to find another place to live. Thanksgiving Break

It's been awhile since I've written on my blog. I've been busy keeping up with my school work and that takes a lot of my time. Now I have a week on for Thanksgiving break. Apartments

Lately I have been looking around for apartments and houses that may be for rent next year. The only problem is is that we need a 6 month lease not a 12 month lease. I will be done with college and would like to move onto my career without being locked into a lease where I don't want to live anymore after school. I will have to do some praying about this that the Lord leads us in the right direction.

Mid Terms

This week is not fun. I have 4 mid terms that I am studying very hard for. I had my first one today and I feel pretty confident in the fact that I'm pretty sure I did well at it. Tomorrow I have the other three so I will be studying all night. I'm not worrying about it and am trying to trust the Lord to help me remember everything I've learned and studied.

Riviera Maya Honeymoon

When my parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary they decided they wanted to take a special trip somewhere and that is just what they did. They took a trip down to the Riviera Maya in Mexico. They said it was so lovely there and the beaches and water was stunning. They mentioned that this would make a great riviera maya honeymoon for any couple planning a marriage together. I think it would be fun someday when I find the girl of my dreams to marry and to take a honeymoon there where there is so much to offer in the romance department. Norwegian Pancakes

Last night when my brother and I got home to my parents, my mom had dinner ready and we had Norwegian pancakes. The house smelled so good and the food tasted even better. We didn't get a chance to have them when it was my brother's birthday so my mom made them for us last night. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

School

School has been a real challenge for me this year. I don't think I have done this much school work in the whole time I have attended college. You would think as a person gets closer to graduating that it would let up some but nope I have so much to do all the time. I can't wait to be done with college and to move onto normal life.

The sport of paintball looks pretty cool. I have never had a chance to play it but I would love to. Not only does it look like so much fun but the guns that are used look amazing. Money

I have needed to earn money for so long. I have not had a job in quite awhile and while I am in school it is better for me not to hold down a job. I can keep my grades up better that way. I am signing up to give plasma later this month and am hoping this will be a way for me to earn some cash. I also helped my parents put on air conditioner boxes last night at the retirement facility where they both work so that will help some too. It feels good to work and make my own money.

We came so that we could join up with some friends and head to Villisca again. We got to go there early summer and this is now the second time this year to go. We are pretty excited and are hoping we experience something at the house. The Villisca Ax Murder House was on the show One of the most scariest places on earth. We have experienced somethings while we have been there and it's pretty cool.

Disney Tickets

It has been so long since I have been to Disney World. I think about it quite often and dream about being able to go back again sometime soon. It would be so much fun to go down there around Thanksgiving or Christmas. What a great way to spend the holidays. Often you see that they have special things going on at those times of the year. I would love to purchase Disney Tickets to be able to see the Christmas parade. That would be the best Christmas present ever. I hope someday I will be able to or even when I have a family of my own to spend Christmas that way.

Saturday Night

Tonight my brother and I are going out to celebrate his birthday with three of our cousins, and a couple of friends. We are going to eat Chinese and then head to the late movie. It has been a few weeks since we've been home and have gotten to hang out with these guys so it should be a pretty good time.

Home

Today is my brother's 24th birthday. Tomorrow he and I are heading home. We are going to me our parents for supper and then head home. There we will celebrate my brother's birthday together. I think my mom is baking a white cake with chocolate frosting and we will have Peanut Butter Panic ice cream. I can't wait. I could have some right now. We will be at our parents house till Sunday and then we will go back. I am so looking forward to some time away.

Destination Weddings

I am getting old enough where I do think what it will be like when I meet the girl of my dreams and we plan our wedding day. I think one special place to have a wedding would be on one of the beautiful white sandy beaches in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. I've heard it is gorgeous there and the weather is so warm and nice. This would be perfect for destination weddings. Then after the wedding the couple could spend their honeymoon at the Karisma Hotel. There they would have so many luxuries. These hotels are all inclusive and have wonderful amenities such as in-room Jacuzzis, outdoor showers, infinity balcony pools, and so much more. Any couple would feel so pampered and the atmosphere is romantic.

Today my dad took my brother and myself out to Subway. I enjoy the subs there and you can get a pretty good deal there too. I like my sandwiches toasted but not as long as they normally do, it dries them out. They have a lot of good choices to choose from.

School

Well, school started this past Monday and I've got a week under my belt. I've been dreading going back all summer and can't believe it's here. I hope this year is better then last year and that I enjoy the classes more. I am taking one class that surrounds music and I love music so I am hoping that it will be an enjoyable experience.

My Dad

So I mentioned in my last post that my brother and I are having car troubles. My dad had to take a day off of work today and drive two hours to come and help us figure out what is going on. The other day I went out to my car to go to school and it wouldn't start. I was not happy and I thought to myself, "What now." So I called my dad and told him what happen and he said it could be my battery because as soon as we jumped it it started. My brother is having some issues with his car too so that makes it a real pain when we need to go somewhere. Good thing our roommate has his car.

Music

I spend hours listening and downloading music. It's one of my favorite things to do. I enjoy a wide range of music. My favorite is probably rap music. Toby Mac is definetly one of my favorites and he's a good Christian man.

Where I live they have great bike paths. There is one that I like to go on that is all sunny. I try to wear a sleeveless tshirt so that I can get a little sun and being out in the hot sun makes me sweat so I feel like I am burning off some calories. It's a great feeling and I love being outdoors riding my bike.

It is such a beautiful day today. Lately it has been so cool for July, actually cold at times. But I think today is about perfect. It is in the upper 70s and there is a nice breeze flowing through the windows. The humidity is low so it's not sticky and miserable. It would be a good day for a walk or bike ride.

Family Vacation

I love going on a family vacation and what better vacation then one that is all inclusive and is relaxing. My parents were blessed enough to go to the Riviera Maya. Family Reunion

Saturday we had a family reunion. Many of my cousins were there and some of our relatives came as far as Tennessee and Texas. It was so much fun and of course there was great food. We played volleyball, had a bonfire, and shot of some fireworks. It was an all around great day.

Job Searching

Once again, I am unemployed. I hate looking for work but I know it is necessary to find a job. I recently applied at a Christian Book Store. I am hoping that they will consider me for an interview. Job

Well I officially started my new job last night. I was scheduled for 8 hours and I basically did the same job for most of the night. It was so hot in there I was soaked with sweat. Last Day in Memphis

Downtown Memphis has a huge pyramid in it. It use to hold large events such as wrestling events or concerts. It is now abandoned and we went and checked it out. It was cool. Vacation

My brother and I are on vacation with my parents. We are in Memphis, Tennessee. We went to Graceland today and it was so worth it. We have had such a good time so far. We are looking forward to seeing downtown Memphis tomorrow and going to Beale Street. There is lots to see and do down there.

Memorial Day

How do you celebrate Memorial Day. When I was younger my parents would take us to the grave sites of loved ones. It didn't happen every year but I do remember a couple of times. It is a great time to remember loved ones who have gone on before us and also to remember the men and women who have fought for our country.

Memorial Day Weekend

On Memorial Day weekend we had some friends over and we barbecued New York strips, burgers and hot dogs. It was so amazing how well everything tasted. On holiday weekends like this, especially in the warmer weather, it is fun to grill out and be with friends.

Watch Out, Here Comes The Jury!!

Jury duty, hmmmm, never had to do that. Of course I'm pretty young yet and most likely I will get asked in the future. My mom never has been asked but my dad has. I guess it wouldn't be that bad but in a way I hope I never have to do it.

Home

We are heading home tomorrow to stay with our parents for about 5 days. My brother hasn't been home for awhile and I have but we are both ready to go home again. My mom always feeds us well and we have a pretty good time seeing friends we don't see much. It should be a good time.

I really don't do much with my hair. I like it short and I shave it on a regular basis. My head is not bald, the hair is just extremely short and I like it that way.

In a small town in Iowa there was a horrible murder that had taken place. This home where it happened has been open to the public for people to go stay over night there. Many have felt and seen things happen in this house since the murders. My brother, friends and I are going there again for the third time. We like to video tape the whole time we are there. Weeks Over

Massage

I am home for the week. I am going to have two massages this week to hopefully help relieve back pain I am dealing with. I had one yesterday and it was amazing. I have never had a massage and I am looking forward to having another one.

I have taken my last final for this school year and now I am officially done with my junior year. I am so excited and relieved to be done with all of this for now. I stressed so much and hope that I did well. I know I have had a lot of prayers going up for me so that makes me feel a lot better.

Family All Inclusive Vacations

My brother and I love to take vacations with our mom and dad. We have had a lot of fun vacations with our parents throughout our lifetime. One time they took a trip to Mexico and stayed at an all inclusive resort. They said it was so amazing. I think it would be fun to take one of those family all inclusive vacations such as the Karisma Hotels. We are going to take a road trip down there and go to Graceland. It will be fun to do something we have never done before. Not too sure what else we will do and that's okay, it should be a blast.

Next Week

I get to go home for about a week next week. I am so looking forward to that. I have been dealing with a lot of back pain and my mom set up a couple of massage appointments for me to see if that will help at all. I have never had a massage but am looking forward to it especially if it helps relieve my pain. It will also be nice to have some good home cookin'.

This morning I had my first final of the week. I studied so much last night and even got up earlier this morning to study some more. Halloween Costumes

I love it when Halloween is around. My brother and I love to search for the perfect Halloween Costumes. There are so many to choose from and it can be kind of hard sometimes. I know of a family that gets Halloween costumes for their entire family each year. They all dress up and they have the same theme going throughout the family. For example zombies, they will each be dressed up as a different zombie, it is pretty cool. We really get into decorating and dressing up for that night. We get a bunch of friends involved in doing it too. It can be pretty fun.

Weekend

My parents came to our place this past weekend. We all went to church together and there was an amazing service. It is such an awesome church. We then went to Perkins and had lunch. I got a breakfast meal and strawberry cheesecake. It was soooo good and we had a great time.

There are so many times I have wished I would have taken my college courses online. My brother does it and it works so well with his schedule. Taking online college courses is so great for stay at home moms, people trying to work a full time job and still want to continue their education and doing this is great for anyone. The last couple of days have been absolutely amazing for weather. It feels like summer! I took a long drive yesterday, playing my favorite music very loud and enjoyed the sunshine and warm temps. It was pretty nice and today is another very warm day. =)

School

Last semester I really struggled keeping my grades up at school. I was working a lot and my classes were pretty intense. Since I quit working I have had more time to devote to studying and it has made a huge difference. I have been doing way better on tests and daily work. It's a great feeling to see the improvement.

Politics....hmmm, not really into it too much. I am not a fan of Obama and did not vote for him but I know as a Christian that I need to pray for him and other leaders of our country. I pray that he seeks God in decisions that he makes for the betterment of our country.

Easter

My brother and I are planning on going home for Easter weekend. I am ready to go now but it's only Tuesday. I need a break from this city we live in and from school. It will be great to be with our family and some friends that we don't get to see too much.

I've been checking on my grades lately. I have been working very hard to bring them up and I found out the other day that two of my classes I am doing much much better in. I had to hard tests to take this week and with a lot of studying and praying I did descent on them so I am extremely happy right now. God is good and I know that he has been beside me through it all.

Job Hunting

Well, back to job hunting again. I did receive a call today for one job and it didn't offer very many hours and I would have to work every weekend. Not too sure I am interested in that but will give it some thought. I sure hope I can find something soon.

Uncle Herman

My Uncle Herman passed away yesterday. Last week he had to have part of his leg and foot amputated because he had no circulation in it. He was doing pretty well and then all the sudden his lungs collapsed and his heart just couldn't take it. We are all saddened by the news but know that Uncle Herman is in Heaven with Jesus and suffering no more.

Cracked Head

Car Troubles

My brother and I are both having issues with our cars. They seem to be using oil and tend to have low antifreeze in them. My dad has been trying to figure out what's wrong with my brother's car but hasn't come up with anything yet. Maybe it's because they are high miled cars, who knows. Tests

This morning I had a big test to take in one of my classes. I studied through my notes from about 7 at night till 1:00 this morning. I texted my dad and mom and asked them to pray for me and they did. I feel that I did so well on this test and I know it's because I took time to study and also the prayers that were lifted on my behalf.

I don't have anything to do with health care right now in my life because I am still a student and under my parents insurance but I am aware of the need for health care for many. Unemployed

Well, as of yesterday I am now unemployed once again. I felt I didn't want to go back to my old job because the doctor never found out what exactly I had a reaction to so I tried to transfer to another job and that didn't work out. So they let me quit on good terms which means if I decide I want to work there again in the future that they would consider me for hire.

Job Transfer

I mentioned in a post not too long ago that I put in for a transfer to another department where I work. I am hoping to get into the casino security since this is kind of in the field that I am going to school for. It would give me good experience and I know most of the security guards there already so I would feel comfortable being in that position. My brother works 3rd shift and really likes his job as a security officer. I hope I hear something soon.

Dr. Appointments

Awhile back I had shared that I had to go by ambulance to the hospital because I had some reaction to gloves I wear at work. Since then I have been to a few doctor appointments to see if we could figure out what happened. I saw an Allergist and he never did pinpoint what the allergic reaction came from but did clear me to use a different kind of glove that was safe for me. I am not wanting to go back into my original job in fear that it may happen again so I put in for a transfer and hoping I can get a different position.

Awhile back I had started a Christian group on Facebook. We have many members who have joined and it is uplifting to share God's word with these people. I like to send out daily scriptures to encourage everyone. I also receive many prayer requests that I pass onto the members so that we can all pray for them. It is something I enjoy doing very much.

Ambulance

Almost a week ago I was taken by ambulance to the emergency room. The week before I had an allergic reaction to some gloves I wear at work. Work

It was kind of nice that at work tonight I got off early. It was pretty dead so they sent me home. I really didn't want to be there so I didn't mind too much. So my brother and I are going out for awhile. I wouldn't want to get off early every time because it wouldn't be good on the paycheck but once in awhile is ok.

Last Weekend

It was so great being home with my parents this past weekend. My mom made some delicious food and it was fun just staying in and hanging out with them. The time went way too fast and before I knew it I was on my way back to my apartment. It was a nice break.

Holodomor Truth

Blue Van

You know, I have been dealing with some issues at school and it has really been stressing me out. I feel so blessed that I have parents that are supportive and a brother who lives with me. They are there for me whenever I need them. I also have the good Lord to comfort me. He is there 24/7 and that helps me daily. I don't know what I would do without them and don't want to find out.

Our weekend away was fun but it was hard to go home last night. And on top of it the weather sucked. It was snowing and blowing and my windshield washer wasn't working right so that was pretty frustrating. It got so cold this week that my car, my brother's car and our roommate's car would not start. Classes started yesterday at school. So far I really like who I have for professors. I sure hope this semester goes better then the last one. Weekend Plans

Well, the weather guy said we were only going to get one to two inches of snow yesterday and that just wasn't so. I think the state of Iowa got hit pretty hard ranging from 4 to over 8 inches of snow in some areas so of course that ruined my plans for today.
I was suppose to meet up with some friends who are from Omaha and we were going to meet in Des Moines for the day. They are recommending no travel so I guess I am stuck at home for the day. I am very disappointed because I thought it would be fun to do something fun before I start school again on Monday. Oh well, I guess that's just the way it goes when you live in a state like Iowa.

New Years Eve

Well, our New Years Eve was ok. We were expecting more people to be at our apartment but they backed out at the last minute. So my two roommates and I made the most of the evening. We had a lot of good food, played Nintendo Wii and a few other games. Watched a movie and stayed up till 6 a.m. We had a pretty good time considering. Hope you had a Happy New Years Eve.

Online Degree

My brother is taking classes online to earn his online degree in criminal justice. It is really nice for him because he has a job where it would be hard for him to attend a regular college. He really likes the flexibility and is doing very well at it.
