Great American Seafood Cook Off

I love trying new recipes. It is fun to try and bring together spices and flavorings in dishes that I enjoy. One of my favorite things to do is use the outdoor barbecue grill. So, if I get an opportunity to cook on it I will. I really like fish, especially a good piece of orange roughy. When making it on the grill I like to coat my fish in cornflake crumbs then put melted butter over the top of it. I then season it with a little salt and pepper and some onion powder. I like to slice in some potatoes with it and also put melted butter and onion powder on them. I then wrap it all up in a strong piece of foil and cook it slowly on low heat on the barbecue grill. When it is done it is so moist and flaky and wow, is it good.
I think about the Great American Seafood Cook off and wonder what kind of recipes are used at this event. I wonder if other people would enjoy my recipe for how I like to cook fish.
The fifth Annual Great American Seafood Cook-Off will be held Aug 2-3 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. One chef and one state will go away with the title of King of American Seafood.
Governor Jindal challenges all states to send them their best chef and most delicious domestic sustainable seafood. Out of 14 chefs only 5 will remain as finalists. For the ticket price of $10 the public, 18 years and older are invited to cheer on the chefs as they compete against each other. This sounds like a really fun event and would be interesting to see what recipes these chefs come up with and who will win.

Fruits of the Spirit

These 9 fruits best describe aspects of a Christian character. Paul used this list to show the contrast between a Godly character and one that is focused on fleshly concerns.
I strive daily to live my life with all the 9 fruits of the spirit. I want people to see in my life that Christ lives in me. It isn't always easy and I sometimes fail but I am thankful that I serve a forgiving God.

Step Brothers

Who doesn't like Will Farrell, I am a huge fan. I think I have seen just about every movie he has made plus own a few on dvd. He is coming out with another great one called Step Brothers. John C. Reilly joins him in this comedy. They teamed up in the movie Talladega Nights.
Will Farrell plays a 40 year old man who still lives with his mother (Mary Steenburgen). Reilly also plays a middle aged man who is as infantile as Will Farrell's character. Reilly also sponges off his father(Richard Jenkins) as he still lives at home.
Steenburgen and Jenkins fall in love and decided to move in together. That then leads to Farrell and Reilly having to share a room together. The comedy really begins. You can about imagine what all happens. It looks like a great movie and I love comedies like this one. I will definitely try to catch this one. It opens in theaters July 25th.

The New Batman Movie

I am so pumped at the idea of the new Batman movie coming out. The name of it is The Dark Night. Heath Ledger is one creepy looking Joker. This movie looks to be more dark and different then the other Batman movies. There are so many great actors in it too which will just add greatness to it. My brother and some buddies and I are going to see it this weekend. We can't wait, it should be awesome!

Job hunting

My brother and I went out yesterday to do some job hunting. We picked up several applications so we will be busy filling them out. We are sure hoping to get a hold of a job soon before other kids roll into town for school. This is a bigger city then what we use to live in so I am hoping we have better success.

Settling in

Well, I think our apartment is looking pretty good. Most of the unpacking is done and now it's time to job hunt. My brother worked hard yesterday getting the living room in order and he finished unpacking the kitchen.

Finally

Finally I have some time to post. We got moved into our new apartment yesterday with the help of my parents. It had to be the most hot and humid day of the summer.
